salaam brothers, i would like to raise a very important issue in the mosques which is that the facilities (i.e. wudu places, toilets etc.) in both mosques of the slough islamic trust are in appalling condition and are very unhygienic. firstly, there is NO dispensable antibacterial soaps available and secondly the state of the faciltiies is frankly disgusting. cCeanliness is advocated in Islam so something must be done. The MuslimS should keep the Masjid clean and in good shape and smell because it is the house of Allah (S.W.T.). The prophet (S.A.W.) considered spitting in the Masjid to be a sin that could be forgiven only if the Muslim cleans the area. Imams Bukhari and Muslim reported that the prophet (S.A.W.) said: "Spitting in the Masjid is a sin and its expiation is clean it." When the prophet (S.A.W.) saw a spit in the Masjid, he used to remove it with a stone. The companions of the prophet (S.A.W.) used keep the Masjid clean. Imam Abu Dawod reported that Abdullah bin Omar (R.A.) used to put perfume inside the Masjid when Omar (R.A.) sat on the Minbar to deliver Friday speech. so should the house of Allah be kept this way? Brothers we should ask ourselves this question and it is not that we are short of funding - SLOUGH ISLAMIC TRUST HAS OVER 1 MILLION POUNDS CURRENTLY GATHERING DUST IN THE BANK. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. THIS IS DISGRACEFUL. YOUR islamibrother

w.salam brother
yes I defintely agree with what you're saying. Im sure plenty of people out there feel the same.
Maybe we should talk to comittee or Imam to get our views across. Meeting in person is still proven to be the most effective way compared to online/phone etc. Perhaps one day after friday prayers we could discuss this?
This forum is good to discuss amongst ourselves but maybe we need to send email to the comittee to meet with them?

mashallah, alhamdulilah, i have recently noticed there are now dispensable soaps available in the mosque - thank you very much to the brothers who have provided these as now washing hands is a lot more hygienic!
thank you very much again - this is one step some brothers have taken to improve the masjid's facilities.
may Allah reward them for their efforts. Ameen.

Its the small improvements like this that will inshallah make things better at the Masjid. Perhaps whenever we are there we can also contribute with the small things like the dispensable soap...

As salaam mu alaikum
I have been a citizen in Slough for over 2 decades and Alhumdulillah finally the toilets have had a MUCH needed revamp. So thumbs up on that. I would like to add though, the finish of it is ridiculous and not befitting for a toilet facility for the Masjid. I can not believe that with over 1.3 million in the bank a little more could not be paid, I mean its the community who have funded the Masjid, surely we should have a certain amount of input rather than a selected committee and Mr Afzal. I have also tried to speak to the 'elders' in the Masjid and was turned away with my ideas. This Masjid has taken over a million pounds and we don't even have a single Quran hafiz in over a decade. The toilets for the sisters is DISGUSTING. And why is it everytime someone wishes for a speaker to come in, he is dismissed even when he is a Sunni (brelvi)? I have many points but il end with this, we have lost a whole generation to the Wahhabi sect in Slough due to the lack of leadership qualities of the selected few who run the Masjid. I pray they have answers for themselves on the Day of Judgement.

Salaam brothers, I would like to know when the mosque is going to build this car park it promised a decade ago. All I have seen money being wasted on projects that never begin. They purchased the petrol station and demolished it, they purchased a Retirement home on Upton road, Slough and demolished it and the purchased Thames valley tiles and are now asking money to make it into something but the wont tell us what its going to be. I THINK ITS ABOUT TIME WE HAD NEW MANAGEMENT FOR THE MOSQUE!

Salaam to all my brothers and sisters I would like to ask a question regarding the house that was bought next to montem lane masjid,it was meant to be so that a extension could take place, why has this not taken place after all this time over 2 years now, first shah Saab the imam of montem lane was living there with his family and now that he has moved and become a taxi driver now there's a Romanian family living there,to be honest the commitee do a lot of things in secret without the contributing community members even knowing what is going on,it seems it's like a all in house Pakistani family thing going on,no wonder you hardly see brothers of any other ethnic backgrounds in the masjids and that's coming from a Sunni Muslim of Pakistani origin, the commitee members will just keep on going through their own current in house structure,no disrespect but that's what most of us think and it's never going to change anytime soon,my concerns are for the youth who have no connection to the masjids see for yourself,Salam

You may be aware that a number of Labour Candidates have made pledges that are anti Muslim anti Pakistani. Geo TV exposed Labour MP in Southall and branding Pakistani a terrorist state. Rightly so the Imam and Muslim community leaders call on him to explain himself. Now it has come to my attention from sister @notinmyname88 that Labours Slough candidate supports a racist Sikh Manifesto which brands Muslims as child groomers. I feels its important that your my wish to follow the community in Southall and call to account the candidates Islamophobic views. We need a candidate for all our communities not one who has a objective for his own kind. On these tweet accounts you see there is already serious concerns. HalimaK please contact sister Halima and help her @notinmyname88
